I have shared my life with dogs and horses for as long as I can remember, from childhood dreams of a pony of my own, realising that at 14 and later juggling fulltime work and riding before the early morning commute. Horses and dogs have always been pivotal and very much a major focus.

My husband loves animals too and while he’s remained long suffering we have built a home for our children, surrounded by dogs and horses, a total realisation of my early childhood dreams.

So horses have been part of my every day for a very long time but the winter of 2018 became a huge struggle when one of the horses developed serious mud fever. It was while trying to manage the condition I discovered shampoo, lotions and potions designed for use on animals are ungoverned by regulation. This means, brand owners and manufacturers are not required to disclose the ingredients used in products. It was the lack of transparency that really troubled me and the more I researched I felt something better could be done.
